The Mobile World Congress has come and gone with two monstrosity of flagships launched by Samsung and LG. Samsung has taken to Mobile World Congress to launch its flagship device Galaxy S7 Edge, as usual and LG too has announced its flagship called LG G5 at the event. Both these handsets are pinnacle of smartphone technologies at this point and has made it difficult for Android lovers to select one of these two handsets. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and LG G5 both have their unique selling points and cons as well. Moreover, LG brings a whole new concept of modularity with G5, which happens to be a fresh new innovation in the handset market. The only thing bogging down these handsets are massive LG and Samsung mobile price. Here is a spec-wise break down of these handsets to help you decide which on you should opt for.
Display: Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Wins Hands Down
This year is the time when LG is making radical changes to its design as well as display. Last year's flagship G4 came with an impressive Quad HD display measuring 5.5-inch, however, this year LG has opted for smaller 5.3-inch display. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge on the other hand, boasts of a larger 5.5-inch display with same Quad HD display along with a Super AMOLED panel, which makes for a beautiful screen. Also, the curved display on both sides not only look better but also bring new features on the table. As such, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge wins hands down in this department as it is bigger, better and beautiful display. However, in the end it all boils down to the personal preference of the user in this department.Design: LG Brings A Fresh Take But Samsung Wins With Its Premium Build
This year, LG has made some radical changes to its design with an all metal unibody chassis while still retaining the removable battery. Gone are the rear mounted volume/power controls that have been replaced by a fingerprint scanner and dual camera setup. Also, the highlight of the device is the removable chin of the device that allows users to change modules for extra functionality, which LG has named as Friends for LG G5. It is definitely a groundbreaking innovation as far as flagship devices are concerned but does not take anything away from Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge. The Galaxy S7 Edge comes with the same beautiful glass and metal form that was adored by everyone when Galaxy S6 edge came out. Moreover, Samsung has also brought back the expandable storage and reduce the camera hump, which is like the cherry on the cake.Specs: Both Smartphones Are At Par With Each Other
